May is just around the corner and that means one thing: So is the BMW PGA Championship. It’s a really notable tournament this year with it being the 60th anniversary edition. The start of the seventh decade for the European Tour’s flagship event takes place over 19-24 May. So that’s 6 days of premier quality golf that will include the official practice day, Celebrity Pro-Am and four rounds of competition.
As ever, this tournament is all about the Saturday and Sunday and all eyes and ears will be on who is going to succeed Rory McIlroy, the world number one and a four time major champion. Although we’re sure you don’t need much reminding, the BMW PGA Championship takes place each May at the Wentworth Club in Surrey. The tour’s headquarters are within the club and this championship is regarded as the flagship event on the European Tour, so you can rest assured, if you’re after some of the best golf going, this is the one to watch.
Keep your eyes peeled for some high-end golf equipment too. McIlroy himself can often be seen sporting Nike golf clubs and their latest Engage wedges will undoubtedly be on show and in full swing. If you’re in the market for new golf clubs or ex demonstration golf clubs, and used and second hand golf equipment too, keep your eye on our store. If there’s a model you are particularly after, get in touch with us and we will try to source it for you!
